The Midterms: Show Biz Crowd Raises for Republican Mark Kirk

Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.), who is seeking President Obama’s old Senate seat and is in the news today for pledging to lead the fight to the repeal of the healthcare bill, will be raising money from a Hollywood-centric crowd on April 11.

According to an invite that has recently gone out, Gary Sinise, Jon Voight and Jay Hoffman are co-hosts of the $2,400-per-person event, to be held at the Bistro Garden in Studio City. Others on the host committee include Powers Boothe, Bruce Boxleitner, Jerry and Linda Bruckheimer, Lionel Chetwynd, Angie Harmon, Ron Plotkin, John Ratzenberger, Jack Scalia, Jason Sehorn, Connie Stevens, Joel Surnow, Barry and Mireille Wolfe and David Zucker.

Last August, Kirk’s Democratic challenger, Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, raised money at the home of Fox’s Jim Gianopulos and his wife Ann.
