More than any other administration, the Obama White House has taken advantage of unconventional places to pitch the President’s agenda, whether it be “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” or ESPN.
It’s still open to debate whether this is helping Obama’s popularity, but he took another try at it today when he was in New York to tape an appearance on “The View,” the first in-studio daytime talk show appearance for a commander in chief.
ABC News released some clips of his appearance this afternoon, in which Barbara Walters asked Obama what has been the “rose” and the “thorn” in the past month.
Of the former, Obama said, “In the last month the rose has to be a couple of days we took in Maine
with Michelle, Sasha and Malia. They’re full of opinions and
ideas and observations and it’s just a great age … Malia just turned
12 and Sasha 9. Couldn’t been a better couple of days.”
Of the latter, he said, “Where do I begin?”
Obama taped his appearance before a series of fund-raisers in New York, including one hosted by Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
