Jon Stewart’s Fox News Fixation

Jon Stewart has been a media watchdog for some time, skewering the excesses of cable news in particular. But Brian Stelter of the New York Times writes that this year, Fox News has been the subject of 24 segments on “The Daily Show” so far this year, compared to five for CNN. One of the latest is Stewart’s skewering of “Fox & Friends,” whose anchors suggested that the logo for President Obama recent nuclear summit was an Islamic image.

Stelter writes, “Combining the earnestness of a journalism professor and the sarcasm of a
satirist, Mr. Stewart routinely charges that Fox’s news anchors and
commentators distort Mr. Obama’s policies and advance a conservative
agenda. He reminds some viewers of the left-wing group Media Matters but
much funnier.”
