Warner Bros. Intl. TV Distribution unit has tapped Andrew Zein senior VP of creative, format development and sales for its newly formed global production unit.
London-based Zein, who comes to the studio after nine years as m.d. for U.K. shingle Tiger Aspect Prods., will develop strategy for the studio’s worldwide expansion of its TV catalog. Mission of the unit, formed in August, is to offer localized versions of popular shows, both scripted and nonscripted.
For example, a Gallic version of “The Mentalist” would air in France rather than the Stateside version with French dialogue dubbed in.
Zein will report to exec VP Ronald Goes, who has been laying the groundwork for the new unit.
