‘Whip It’ to close Birds Eye View

Film festival runs March 4-12 in London

LONDON — Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut “Whip It” will close The Birds Eye View Film Festival, which runs March 4-12 in London.

Fest, which celebrates the work of women filmmakers, will also show the Golden Globe nommed “Lourdes,” directed by Austrian helmer Jessica Hausner and the Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner “Rough Aunties,” helmed by Kim Longinotto.

A masterclass by Danish helmer Susanne Bier (“Things We Lost in the Fire”) is also featured, along with a retrospective on the role of blondes in the age of silent cinema and Hollywood’s Golden Age.
