Channel to air with traditional Chinese subtitles
WE tv will launch in Hong Kong on PCCW’s pay TV operator, now TV, its latest foray into the Asian market after announcing two deals in Korea and Singapore in recent months.
Available in nearly 74 million homes in the United States, WE tv is a women’s channel which features series such as “My Fair Wedding,” “Raising Sextuplets,” “Bridezillas,” “Amazing Wedding Cakes,” and “The Locator.”
WE tv will appear on now TV channel 519 as a 24/7 linear channel in both standard and high definition, and with traditional Chinese subtitles.
Last month, WE tv launched, with Sundance, on Skylife in South Korea, and the previous month they launched on SingTel’s feevee service Mio after Rainbow Media completed a carriage deal in Singapore.
In November, Rainbow Media, which is a unit of Cablevision Systems Corporation, signed up to distribute the networks to Asia for the first time via the Measat-3a satellite.
