Shingle produces 'Supernanny,' 'Who Do You Think You Are?'
Warner Bros. Entertainment is in talks to buy U.K. TV company the Shed Media Group, producer of “Supernanny” and “Who Do You Think You Are?”
According to a statement issued by Shed on Monday, Warner Bros. is “working with certain members of Shed management” on a deal, but there is “no certainty that an offer will be made nor as to the terms on which any offer might be made.”
Shed Media, which has a market capitalization of about £70 million ($104 million) and owns a number of shingles including Wall to Wall, Ricochet and Twenty Twenty, had previously been the target of a management buyout, which was backed by private equity groups Bowmark Capital and Darwin Private Equity. These talks ended June 9.
In April, Shed reported revenue of $137 million for 2009, up 13% on the previous year, and operating profit of $18.3 million, which was level with the 2008 result. Warner Bros. declined to comment.
