WWI pic has grossed $1.6 million in Oz
LONDON — Momentum Pictures has picked up U.K. rights to Aussie pic “Beneath Hill 60” from international sales and production co Intandem Films.
The WWI pic, which was released by Paramount Pictures in Australia on April 15, has grossed $1.6 million to date Down Under.
Pic is the second feature directed by Aussie Jeremy Sims — he previously directed 2006’s “Last Train to Freo” — and is based on the true story of a small platoon of Australian miners who prepare to ignite a high amount of explosives under German lines in attempt to end the war.
London-based Intandem holds worldwide sales rights to the pic, which will screen in the Cannes Market on May 15 and 16.
