French docu has sold to 33 territories

Pubcaster Channel 4 has taken U.K. terrestrial TV rights to Gallic documentary series “Apocalypse: The Second World War” to air this year.

“Apocalypse” is sold by France Televisions Distribution, the overseas sales unit of pubcaster France Televisions.

The six-part docu has already been bought by 33 countries, including the U.S. (Smithsonian Channel), Spain (TVE), Italy (RTI-Mediaset) and Japan (NHK), Germany (ARD1).

Co-produced by Paris-based Clarke Costelle & Co. and Gallic public org ECPAD, series is also a DVD/Blu-ray hit, notching up 500,000 sales in French-speaking territories after its September launch.
