Studio links with government on apprenticeship plan

Pinewood Studios has linked up with the U.K. government to launch apprenticeships for the film biz.

Film minister Sion Simon unveiled the plan Thursday to create positions at the site for 10 apprentices, who will train for various below-the-line roles.

The move is part of the government’s plan to create 5,000 apprenticeships in the TV, film, legit and other creative industries by 2013.
