ROME — The 67th Venice Film Festival has announced that the world preem of helmer Julie Taymor’s “The Tempest” will close the fest on Sept. 11; event has also unveiled jury members.

Taymor’s gender-bending Shakespeare adaptation, which stars Helen Mirren as Prospera — a female version of the sorcerer Prospero — will launch from the Lido out-of-competition.

The cast includes Russell Brand, Alfred Molina, Djimon Hounsou, David Strathairn, Chris Cooper, Alan Cumming, Ben Whishaw, Reeve Carney and Felicity Jones.

Produced under Disney’s now for-sale Miramax banner, “The Tempest” will be released by Disney’s Touchstone Pictures with an exclusive Stateside run on Dec. 10. Pic will expand to more U.S. markets the following week.

Meanwhile, the fest rounded out its jury on Monday. Joining the previously announced jury prexy Quentin Tarantino are composer Danny Elfman; Mexican multihyphenate Guillermo Arriaga; helmers Arnaud Desplechin, Luca Guadagnino and Gabriele Salvatores; plus actress Ingeborga Dapkunaite.

Venice runs Sept. 1-11.
