BEIJING — Sundance Channel and WE tv are continuing their spree of tie-ups in Asia after Rainbow Media was granted a distribution license by the National Communications Commission in the self-ruled island of Taiwan.
The channel is already distributed in the region in Singapore and South Korea.
Taiwanese operators have access to both Sundance and its sister net, WE tv.
In the US, Sundance Channel is available to nearly 40 million households and WE tv reaches more than 77 million homes.
Sundance Channel and WE tv first launched internationally last year and have continued to gain traction ever since then.
Taiwan is home to more than 23 million people, 80% of whom watch cable television. Sundance Channel and WE tv — via a dedicated MEASAT 3a feed — are available for launch in Taiwan both in high and standard definition, and in English with Traditional Mandarin subtitles.
