Multi-year pact covers TV and film on free-to-air
MOSCOW — TNT, one of Russia’s leading commercial broadcasters, has sealed a multi-year deal with Warner Bros. Intl. Television Distribution.
The pact covers free TV rights to recent Warner movies, including “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” new skeins from the 2009-10 season in the U.S., including “V” and “The Vampire Diaries,” as well as shows from the 2010-11 season; previously released movies; and past hit TV skeins and toon series.
In other Russian news, Disney’s local office has struck a VOD deal with local Internet provider omelet.ru.
The deal, between Disney Russia and Mobilny Telesistem, which runs the VOD platform that launched late last year, will allow users to buy or rent Disney products for between $1.30 and $3.30.
