LONDON — Disney has acquired pre-school eco-animation “The Hive” for global satellite broadcast on Playhouse Disney across 150 countries.
The CGI animation from U.K. shingle The Hive Enterprises and its distributor Bejuba! Entertainment is being produced by Lupus Films, Monumental Productions and DQ Entertainment International.
“The Hive,” about a family of environmentally aware bees, is due to bow on Playhouse Disney channels from early next year.
These include webs in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, South-east Asia, Korea, Japan, India, Latin America, Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Toon will preem in the U.K. on ITV-owned breakfast network GMTV this fall.
