Company takes sole ownership of toon studio

Technicolor has taken sole ownership of its Bangalore, India-based animation studio Paprikaas, it was announced by Technicolor Digital Productions president, Tim Sarnoff. The company has been involved in the creation of CG animation since 2001 and will continue its relationship with DreamWorks Animation, and Nickelodeon and other animation content creators.

Technicolor plans to expand Paprikaas’ core animation business into visual effects, compression and authoring,

Paprikaas has produced animation for TV specials “The Penguins of Madagascar” and “Merry Madagascar,” among other projects, and is now working on “Scared Shrekless,” a DreamWorks’ direct-to-DVD pic.
