Angsty road pic starring Vincent Cassel set to preem in Toronto
Vincent Cassel-starrer “Our Day Will Come” has been nabbed by Optimum Releasing for U.K. distribution. A feature debut from up-and-coming music video director Romain Gavras, “Our Day Will Come” follows two outcast redheads – a teenage loner and his shrink — who embark on a destructive and raging roadtrip to Ireland. Co-produced by Cassel’s outfit 120 Films and repped by TF1 International, the film also has been acquired by Odeon in Greece, Monopole Pathe in Switzerland and California Filmes in Brazil. Gavras is part of the Kourtrajame art and filmmaking collective, which he founded with helmer Kim Chapiron (“Dog Pound”), and is backed by Cassel. Set to world preem at Toronto, “Our Day” will be released in Gaul by UGC on Sep. 15. Other titles on TF1 International’s eclectic slate include Kristin Scott Thomas-starrer “Love Crime,” set for a Toronto’s Special Presentation screening, and Joann Sfar’s (“Gainsbourg”) The “Rabbi’s Cat,” a S3D auteurish toon based on Sfar’s popular comic books.
