NonStop nabs ‘Submarine’

Comedy was acquired at Toronto

NonStop Ent. has picked up the rights to laffer “Submarine” for Scandinavia, Iceland and the Baltics.

NonStop bought the film from Protagonist Pictures in Toronto.

It was helmed by first-time director Richard Ayoade and produced by Mary Burke, Mark Herbert and Andy Stebbing for Film4, Red Hour Films and Warp Films. Ben Stiller was an exec producer.

Pic, which stars Sally Hawkins, Paddy Considine and Noah Taylor, is a coming-of-age story about a boy who thinks he is a genius while in fact he is socially inept and unpopular.
