Helmer Kim Young-bin tapped for position
SEOUL — Helmer Kim Young-bin has been appointed director of Korea’s Pucheon Fantastic Film Festival, the largest such fest in Asia.
He replaces Han Sang-joon, whose term expired on Dec. 3. Kim began his career in the Korean film industry in 1986 as an assistant director for Im Kwon-taek. His made his feature debut with “Kim’s War” in 1992. He is currently a faculty member of the Dept. of Performing Arts and Film at Inha U. The 14th Pucheon fest will be held July 15-25.
