‘Melancholia’ sells to four distribs

Bier's 'World' goes to five more buyers

TrustNordisk has closed several presale deals on Lars von Trier’s sci-fi drama “Melancholia,” starring Kirsten Dunst.

Pic has been bought for Switzerland by Frenetic, for Italy by BIM Distribuzione, Thailand by IPA, and Germany and Austria by Concorde.

TrustNordisk also completed deals for Susanne Bier’s upcoming drama “In a Better World” to Hong Kong (First Distributors), Colombia and Central America (Cineplex), Lithuania (Scanorama), South Korea (Cinus) and Japan (Longride).

Pic had sold to more than 20 countries prior to Cannes.

TrustNordisk sold opera adaptation “Juan” to Benelux (Four Corners/Wild Bunch) and Switzerland (Praesens Film), family film “Karla and Jonas” to France (Ninety-Seven) and kid film “Ploddy the Police Car” to Iran (Century 21) and Benelux (Jekino).
