Mayfield to walk ‘Dog’

He'll direct 3D pic for producer Benattar's Mythic

Les Mayfield is attached to direct “The Dog Squad: 3D” from a script by Steve Carpenter.

Rick Benattar (“Ironclad,” “Shoot ‘Em Up”) will produce via Mythic Intl. Entertainment, which he runs with partners Andrew Curtis and Jonathan English.

ContentFilm Intl. has picked up worldwide rights on its first 3D acquisition.

The family pic stars a string of CGI-animated dogs including overweight bulldog Donut, former police dog Clint and a sassy mutt called Samantha.

Voiceover and cast have yet to be announced. Shooting begins in Canada late summer.

ContentFilm is scheduled to launch pic at next week’s Cannes Film Festival.

Other titles on the sales agent’s slate include English’s “Ironclad,” Pete Travis’ “The Technician,” Jake Scott’s “Welcome to the Rileys” and untitled projects by Gabriel Range and Xavier Gens.
