Magnet attracts ‘Troll’

Norwegian pic steered to 2011 release

Magnet Releasing has snagged world rights, excluding Europe, to Norwegian pic “The Troll Hunter,” aiming for a 2011 theatrical release.

Writer-director Andre Ovredal’s film follows a group of film students who try to capture a real-life troll, after discovering the existence of the monsters has long been covered up by the government. John M. Jacobsen and Sveinung Golimo produce.

Distrib pact was negotiated by Magnet’s Tom Quinn with Jacobsen.

Magnet, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, put “Troll” on a release slate that includes “Monsters,” “13 Assassins” and “I Saw the Devil.”
