Lens focuses on ‘Candidate’ in China

Thriller has been sold to more than 20 countries

STOCKHOLM — Lens Media has picked up Danish thriller “The Candidate” for theatrical release in China, which allows only 20 foreign pics to screen a year.

The distrib will release Kasper Barfoed’s film on Friday. “The Candidate,” which TrustNordisk has sold to more than 20 countries, turns on a defense attorney (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) who finds himself accused of murder. Pic was produced by Peter Bose and Jonas Allen for Miso Film.
