LONDON — Polish helmer Andrzej Jakimowski’s third feature and first English-language pic “Flying Blind” has completed financing and is skedded to shoot in Lisbon this spring.
The E2.5 million ($3.3 million) pic is a co-production between KMBO (France), Filmes do Tejo (Portugal), ZAiR (Poland) and Blighty’s Film and Music Entertainment.
Story, penned by Jakimowski, chronicles a blind, spatial orientation instructor who arrives at a Lisbon ophthalmological clinic where he is in charge of sessions with blind patients. Among his students, he becomes drawn to a young woman and concentrates his efforts on helping her overcome her shyness.
The co-production is funded by the Polish Film Institute, Gaul’s Centre National de la Cinematographie, Portugal’s Instituto Do Cinema E Do Audiovisual (ICA), Canal + Cyfrowy in Poland and Forum Film Distribution.
Casting for the pic is underway.
