‘Inferno’ nabs COLCOA Critics Award

Critics Special Prize goes to 'Rapt'

“Henri-Georges Clouzot’s Inferno,” directed by Serge Bromberg and Ruxandra Medrea, won the Colcoa Critics Award from the Los Angeles Film Critics Assn. jury at L.A.’s 14th annual City of Lights, City of Angels film festival, which wrapped on Sunday.

Mona Achache’s “The Hedgehog” took the audience award, while Pascal Chaumeil’s “Heartbreaker,” which opened the fest, won the audience special prize.

The critics special prize went to Lucas Belvaux’s “Rapt,” while Mia Hansen-Love’s “The Father of My Children” was cited for special mention. IFC Films will distribute “The Father of My Children” and “Heartbreaker” in the U.S.

Many of the fest’s nighttime offerings at the Directors Guild of America’s two theaters were at or near capacity. On Friday night, an SRO crowd turned out for the U.S. premiere of “The Concert,” introduced by Harvey Weinstein, whose Weinstein Co. will open the pic July 16.
