iNet nabs $5.1 mil for SW England

Program to fund film, TV, media initiatives

Creative Industries iNet, an initiative led by U.K. regional agency South West Screen, has raised $3.2 million ($5.1 million) to support film, TV and other media businesses in the area.

iNet has secured $2.2 million from the South West European Regional Development Fund and the rest from other regional orgs.

To begin with, iNet has pledged $120,000 to seven companies to develop media ideas under its Media Sandbox Scheme. Some $16,000 will support a 3D training program in Bournemouth; $67,000 will go to Content Across Continents, a program for testing business models for international partnerships in content development; and $80,000 will fund a conference looking at the future of publishing.
