Indie pic site, Lionsgate UK seal pact

Indiemoviesonline nabs initial slate of nine movies

LONDON — Indiemoviesonline.com, an international, ad-supported free-to-watch video-on-demand site, has inked a pact with distrib Lionsgate UK.

The site has licensed an initial slate of nine pics, mainly horror movies, including “The Mummy,” “Halloween II” and “Tale of a Vampire.”

The platform’s content partners include ITV, the British Films Institute, Aardman, Beyond, East West, Firstlook, Screen Media, Cinetic, Hanway Films, Porchlight, Soda Pictures, Content Films/Fireworks and Content Republic.

The site, which launched June 2009, has more than 2.5 million unique users in the U.K., U.S., Canada and Australia.
