Guests to include Sally Hawkins, James Purefoy

LONDON — Thesp Sheila Hancock will be awarded the EON productions lifetime achievement award at this year’s Women in Film and Television Awards in Blighty.

Hancock will be recognized for her contribution to film and television, which include credits in pics such as “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas” and “3 Men and a Little Lady.” Her TV credits include BBC’s “The Rag Trade,” “Doctor Who,” “Kavanagh QC” and “EastEnders.”

Previous recipients of the award include Diana Rigg, Judi Dench and Maggie Smith.

This year’s WFTV Awards will be hosted by Julie Walters on Dec. 3 at the Park Lane Hilton in London.

Guests expected to attend the event, which honors the achievements of women in the creative arts and entertainment industry, include “Made in Dagenham’s” Sally Hawkins, James Purefoy, Nick Frost, Duncan James, Theo Paphitis and Mary Portas.

The event will be broadcast on 3DTV channel, Sky 3D.
