A total of 92 international buyers from 32 countries are in Hamburg for the four-day German Films Previews, which kicked off on Thursday.
It’s a record crowd for the 10th edition of the event that was first held in Munich before moving to Cologne for the past three years.
Promo org German Films will unspool 19 movies with backing from the Filmfoerderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein film fund.
Among the offerings are “Aghet” by Eric Friedler, “Hanni and Nanni” by Christine Hartmann and a promo of Tom Tykwer’s love story “Three.”
“At Berlin and Cannes there are some 1,500 films competing for attention,” said German Film topper Christian Dorsch. “At the Previews, the buyers have the chance to get a closer look at productions and talk directly to sellers. A lot of the films are sold on the spot.”
