Former ICM exec preps Makeup & Go

Lori Sale opens shop in Brentwood

Inspiration hit Lori Sale after she forked over $300 to have her makeup done at a department store cosmetics counter just before she headed off to a glitzy event.

“Why can’t you go somewhere to get your makeup done as you would your nails and your hair?” she asked herself, and she couldn’t let the idea go.

Eighteen months later, Sale’s brainstorm has become a reality. The former head of branded entertainment at ICM and artist marketing at Paradigm opened the doors last week of Makeup & Go in Brentwood. The salon offers professional makeup services without the pressure to buy products because the shop does not sell cosmetics. There is also a hair blow-out room, dubbed Bubble Blow Dry.

Sale, who also worked in integrated marketing for the Weinstein Co. and Miramax, is eager to follow her entrepreneurial instinct, as well as her heart. Makeup & Go offers free makeovers for women who are battling cancer.

“I strongly believe we need to be there for women going through a difficult time,” Sale says.
