Finecut adds sales on Cannes players

Lee's 'Poetry,' Hong's 'Ha Ha Ha' attract buyers

Seoul-based Finecut has closed new deals on Lee Chang-dong’s Cannes screenplay winner “Poetry” and Hong Sang-soo’s “Ha Ha Ha,” which won Un Certain Regard.

“Ha Ha Ha” has been picked up by Les Acacias for France and P&I Distribution for CIS territories in addition to its previous deal with Catchplay for Taiwan.

“Poetry” has added deals with Mokep for Hungary and Edko Films for Hong Kong.

Hong’s new film, “Oki’s Movie” was chosen as the closing film of the Venice Film Festival’s Horizons section, followed by its North American premiere at the Toronto fest in the Contemporary World Cinema section.

“Poetry” and “Oki’s Movie” will screen at the 48th New York Film Festival next month.
