Bollywood star to get HKIFF lifetime achievement award

The Hong Kong Intl. Film Festival will honor Amitabh Bachchan with a lifetime achievement award at the 4th Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong on Mar. 22.

Bachchan’s career bowed with “Saat Hindustani” in 1969 and his success has earned him the nickname “The Godfather of Bollywood.”

He has also hosted “Kaun banega crorepati?” — the Indian version of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” — and “Bigg Boss,” the Indian version of “Big Brother.”

Fest runs from March 21 to April 6 as part of the Hong Kong Entertainment Expo, which also includes Filmart.
