LONDON — Brit scribe Julian Fellowes has just finished penning the script for a feature adaptation of Paul Torday’s tome “The Girl on the Landing.”
The psychological thriller/love story will be produced by Robert Jones, whose credits include “The Usual Suspects” and “Run Fatboy Run,” through his shingle Jonescompany Productions. He is a former head of the U.K. Film Council’s now defunct Premiere Fund.
Pic, set in Scotland and London, tells the tale about a young couple whose dull marriage is transformed when the husband is visited by strange hallucinations.
Fellowes and Jones previously worked together on Robert Altman’s “Gosford Park,” for which Fellowes nabbed an Oscar for screenplay, while Jones was at the UKFC. The two are currently looking to attach a director. Pic is skedded to lense in spring 2011.
Torday’s debut tome, “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen,” starring Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt, is currently in production.
Torday is repped by Jenny Brown Associates.
