U.K. series gets eight-episode adaptation for cabler

Lifetime has ordered eight episodes of “The Fairy Jobmother,” an adaptation of the U.K. format produced by Studio Lambert.

“Jobmother” will bow on Lifetime at 11 p.m. Oct. 28 following the season finale of “Project Runway,” before moving into the 9 p.m. Thursday timeslot the following week.

” ‘The Fairy Jobmother’ uniquely complements Lifetime’s unscripted strategy and will further strengthen our success among women Thursday evenings,” Lifetime and History prexy/g.m. Nancy Dubuc said.

Stephen Lambert, who created “Undercover Boss” and “Wife Swap,” will exec produce with Eli Holzman (former head of Miramax TV and creator of “Runway.”). Fellow exec producer Shannon Keenan Demers taking on showrunner duties.

Lifetime is importing Hayley Taylor from the U.K. as its Stateside “Jobmother.” The Blighty version of the series was built around Taylor, following her appearance in a U.K. documentary about her unique career-building and motivational techniques.
