EuropaCorp, Zagtoon team on ‘Arthur’

Move follows news of 'Transporter' TV series

PARIS — Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp is teaming up with French outfit Zagtoon to adapt “Arthur and the Invisibles” into a toon series.

Run by animation veteran Jacqueline Tordjman, Zagtoon is owned by Univergroup Capital Media Company, which was launched a year ago by French entrepreneur Jeremy Zag.

The announcement comes just a day after EuropaCorp unveiled details on its first TV production, “Transporter — The Series,” which is based on another popular franchise.

Tordjman’s career spans more than 25 years, with credits that include cult toons like “Goldorak” and “Inspector Gadget,” as well as more recent French animated series, including “Iznogoud” and “Combo Ninos.”
