Eros India signs deal with Star

Murdoch-owned web to premiere some films

Eros India announced Thursday the signing of a multi-film content licensing deal with Rupert Murdoch’s Star Network.

Under the terms of the deal, Star will premiere select films from the Eros slate on its channels prior to them being syndicated to other networks. Deals includes recent releases “Paathshala” and “Karthik Calling Karthik,” and the upcoming pics “Anjaana Anjaanee,” “Rockstar” and “Toonpoor Ka Superhero.”

Pact comes on the heels of Eros acquiring TV rights for Bollywood’s highest-grosser of all time, “3 Idiots,” and syndicating it to Sony Entertainment Television India.
