LONDON — Endemol, best known for reality fare and gameshows, is to make its first feature film — a cinematic snapshot of a year in the life of high-profile English soccer club Manchester City.
The pic, “Blue Moon Rising,” helmed by Stewart Sugg, who directed “Kiss Kiss (Bang Bang),” follows a group of Manchester City fans throughout the 09/10 season in the wake of the takeover by Sheikh Mansour of Abu Dhabi.
Among Manchester City’s supporters shown in the pic is ex-Oasis lynchpin Noel Gallagher.
“Blue Moon Rising,” produced by Endemol Sport, is to bow this summer.
Theatrical distribution will be handled by Endemol in partnership with Robert Mitchell, former U.K. head of Buena Vista International.
