CTV will morph its Star! channel into the celebrity web
Canuck broadcaster CTV and Comcast Intl. Media Group have inked a deal that will bring E! Entertainment Television back to the Great White North.
Star!, a CTV-owned cable channel, will be transformed into E! Entertainment on Nov. 29, it was announced Monday.
Star! carried E! programming from 299 to 2007 when CanWest Global Communications made a deal with Comcast and morphed its CH Channels into E! Channels, which operated until last year.
The CTV-owned channel will have access to all E! programming under the program supply and trademark license agreement, including “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” “Chelsea Lately,” “The Soup” and “E! True Hollywood Story.”
CTV’s E! will also continue to run some of the Canadian programming currently on Star! including “Fashion Television” and “Star Portraits.”
