Duo to stream Chinese content to U.S. users

San Francisco-based Crunchyroll, which streams Asian toons, has partnered with Chinese TV distrib Tai Seng Entertainment to directly stream its live-action content to U.S. users.

Via the new Mytv.Taiseng site, fans can watch the latest variety, drama and other shows from Hong Kong, as well as new and classic pics from Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China for an introductory price of $7.99 a month.

The partners plan to add iPhone and iPad applications while steadily building content.

Crunchyroll already delivers Japanese and Asian toons to PCs, iPads and set-top boxes. Tai Seng offers 100,000 hours of Chinese-language pics and TV series to users via DirecTV and IPTV, as well as Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Net­flix and iTunes.
