Org recognizes 'outstanding contribution' of fellow Brit
LONDON — Simon Cowell, who has bowed out at “American Idol” and segues next to the U.S. version of “The X Factor,” will be given a special prize at next month’s British Academy of Film and Television Arts’ TV awards.
The “X Factor” judge is being honored for his “outstanding contribution … and for his development of new talent.” John Willis, chairman of BAFTA’s TV committee, said he was “delighted” to recognize “one of the most brilliant entertainment producers of our time.”
