Indomina picks up Vietnamese action film

Indomina Releasing has acquired U.S. rights to the Vietnamese actioner “Clash” from Vietnamese producer Chanh Phuong Co. and sales outfit XYZ Films.

Indomina picked up the pic following its screening at the Sitges Fantastic Film Festival in Catalonia, Spain. “Clash” premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April. Under the title “Bayrong,” pic was the top grosser last year at the Vietnamese box office with more than $1 million.

Story centers on a mercenary sent to recover a stolen hard drive containing codes to Vietnam’s first satellite before it is sold to the Chinese Triad.

“Clash” was directed by Le Thanh Son. Pic was written by Johnny Tri Nguyen, Le Thanh Son and Ho Quang Hung, produced by Jimmy Nghiem Pham, Johnny Tri Nguyen and Veronica Ngo Thanh Van and exec produced by Rich Long Nguyen, Tawny Nguyen, Ryan Hoang Hubris, Alex Vo and Carson Vo.
