Chinese regulator preps 3D TV

Broadcasting authority to set standard

BEIJING — China’s state broadcasting authority has said that it will start rolling out trial 3D TV shows later this year in some cities.

Du Baichuan, a deputy chief engineer of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, told the Guangzhou Daily the regulator was preparing a standard for the country’s 3D TV industry chains, and the technology was almost ready.
