Writer-producer Lionel Chetwynd is collaborating with Canada’s Fremantle Corp. and DAP Italy on the adaptation of an Italian best-selling crime novel by Diego Cugia.
The 12-hour skein, “The Merchant of Flowers,” is aimed at the international market and will be shot in Italy. Story deals with global sex slavery.
Mediaset in Italy is the first of the major European networks to come on board.
“For me this is one of those rare opportunities to deal with a true infection of the human spirit in an uncompromising way,” Chetwynd said.
