Castalia Communications, an Atlanta-based producer and distributor of broadcast, satellite, cable and Web-based content, has pacted with the China Intl. TV Corp. to distribute China Central Television in Latin America.
CITVC is the commercial arm of CCTV, China’s state-backed network.
The multiplatform deal, made during last month’s NATPE 2010 market and confab, reinforces CITVC’s “Going Global” initiative and marks Castalia’s first foray into China.
The distribution deal covers CITVC’s TV dramas, documentaries, cartoons, entertainment shows and features. Key titles include “Entangling Love in Shanghai,” “King of Silk,” “Taipei Palace Museum,” “The Great Three Gorges Dam,” “The Han Triumph,” “The Yoga Series” and “Happy in China.”
“CITVC’s content lineup is of the utmost quality, so it was a natural fit as we considered Latin American programmers and distributors we serve,” said Castalia prexy Luis-Torres Bohl.
