BSkyB renames Virgin Media TV

Channel operator to be called Living TV Group

LONDON — U.K. pay TV outfit BSkyB has completed its acquisition of rival Virgin Media Television and renamed it the Living TV Group.

Satcaster said it had paid Virgin Media an initial £105 million ($159 million) for the cabler, with an extra $83 million due once regulators greenlight the deal.

The group comprises seven channels: Living, Livingit, Challenge, Challenge Jackpot, Bravo, Bravo 2 and Virgin 1, which will be renamed as BSkyB has not paid to license the Virgin brand.
