‘Bounty’ to open L.A. Irish fest

Film features Murphy, Gleeson, Broadbent

“Perrier’s Bounty,” from Irish helmer Ian Fitzgibbon, will open the Los Angeles Irish Film Festival Sept. 30 at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences’ Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood.

The film features thesps Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson, Jim Broadbent and Jodie Whittaker and a voiceover by Gabriel Byrne. Pic follows three fugitives over 24 hours attempting to flee death at the hands of crime boss Perrier, played by Gleeson.

U.S. preems include “Swansong: Story of Occi Byrne” helmed by Conor McDermottroe and Alan Gilsenan’s doc “The Yellow Bittern.” produced by John Murray and Anna Rodgers.

Fest, co-presented by the American Cinematheque, wraps Oct. 3.
