BAFTA sets date for next awards

Event is two weeks before Oscar ceremony

LONDON — The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has set the date for next year’s film awards as Feb. 13.

Pics, which can be of any nationality, must be released theatrically in the U.K. in 2010 to be eligible, although some released after that date may still be deemed eligible if they are screened to academy film voting members before an agreed date, yet to be disclosed, by arrangement with BAFTA.

The Oscars have staked out Feb. 27 as the date for their ceremony.
