Artificial Eye nabs ‘Archipelago’

U.K. drama is Joanna Hogg's second feature

LONDON — Artificial Eye has acquired U.K. theatrical and home entertainment rights to Joanna Hogg’s second feature, “Archipelago,” from Wild Horses Film Company.

Pic, which portrays a family in crisis as the son prepares to leave for a year of voluntary service overseas, stars rising British thesp Tom Hiddleston, who also appears in two high-profile upcoming pics, Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse” and Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor.”

Hogg’s debut feature “Unrelated” won the Fipresci International Critics prize at the 2007 London Film Festival, the Guardian film award and the Evening Standard’s newcomer award for Hogg.

“Archipelago” screens in the Film on the Square section of the London Film Festival.
