Revolver will open thriller in the U.K.
Sales agent Celluloid Nightmares has closed a U.K. theatrical pact with distrib Revolver Entertainment for Australian helmer Jon Hewitt’s thriller “X.”
This is the third deal struck between the two companies at the American Film Market, which wrapped last week, following pacts for director Fernando Barreda Luna’s Spanish-language horror film “Atrocious” and brothers Dan and Jonas Orozco’s thriller “Greetings to the Devil,” starring Edgar Ramirez (“Carlos”).
“X,” based on a script by Hewitt and Belinda McClory, follows a jaded sex worker and a woman new to the profession as they experience the night from hell. Pic stars Viva Bianca, Hanna Mangan and Rowan Witt and is produced by Hewitt and Lizzete Atkins.
Celluloid Nightmares, a partnership between L.A.-based production and sales outfit XYZ Films and Hengameh Panahi’s Paris-based Celluloid Dreams, was unveiled at Cannes in May.
