Schepisi rides out ‘Storm’

Rush and Rampling star in adaptation of blockbuster

Fred Schepisi is onboard to direct “The Eye of the Storm,” an adaptation of Australian Nobel Prize-winning author Patrick White’s 1973 novel. Produced by Anthony Waddington and Gregory Read, pic stars Geoffrey Rush, Charlotte Rampling and Judy Davis. Book, which explores the deep emotions within a family relationship, was adapted for the screen by Judy Morris. Shooting starts in April, with the Little Film Co. handling sales, excluding Australasia, at the European Film Market.

The Little Film Co. will also screen “The Last Station” at the EFM. Relased by Sony Pictures Classics in the U.S., pic earned Oscar nominations for stars Helen Mirren and Christopher Plummer.
