MUMBAI — Indian helmer Priyadarshan has inked a two-film pact with Woodpecker Pictures, a subsidiary of U.S.-based entertainment fund Woodpecker Holding.
The films, which have a combined budget of $20 million, will be produced through Priyadarshan’s Four Frames.
The films will be in Hindi; the first a remake of 2009 Tamil “Nadodigal” will start production in April; the second is yet to be set.
Priyadarshan has made more than 60 films in Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil. His last dramatic feature, the Tamil-language “Kanchivaram,” won the Indian National Award for film in 2008.
